This week, the world has been adjusting to the election of Donald Trump. There's been a lot of anger, a lot of fear, and a lot of division. In response to this, and inspired by the words of President Obama, I've tried to distill my sentiments into music, with special focus on not erasing the humanity of those we disagree with, even if they might want to erase ours in turn. When they go low, we go high.
It's okay to cry if you feel lost
We've crossed a line we can't uncross
And no one really knows what's going on
But if we forsake the least of us
And leave them choking on our dust
Then what right do we have to judge someone?

The truth is we believe what helps us cope

But “us and them” makes us do wrong
To people who have nowhere else to go
